Keeping up with vehicle quality reports can be useful for sales professionals

Professionals in the auto sales industry need to have as much information as possible at their fingertips about the products they sell in order to maximize their earnings in an economy that has many consumers reluctant to invest in new vehicles.

For example, it only makes sense that auto dealers and salesmen would stay up to date on all of the vehicle models that have received awards or received other accolades from prominent publications and consumer organizations.

With that in mind, Consumer Reports recently released its list of the top picks for 2010 American cars. According to the publication, the best overall American vehicle was the Ford Fusion Hybrid. Other cars of distinction cited by the magazine included the Lincoln MKZ in the sports sedan category, and the Chevrolet Silverado in the pickup truck category.

It also makes sense for auto sales professionals to know that Consumer Reports has also singled out import models like the Nissan Altima, Hyundai Elantra and Volkswagen GTI for quality.

Of course, consumers are likely to try to explore all of their options in the current economy, especially if their credit score is the only thing standing between them and a loan for the vehicle they may especially want.
